FASCIATED TIGER-HERON – (Species Account Weblog #80)

The Fasciated Tiger-Heron is a medium-sized heron and is usually seen alongside fast-flowing rocky rivers and streams, normally at increased elevations than different tiger-herons. Nearly all the time seen singly, standing on a rock within the center or on the sting of a river. Adults are grey with high quality black barring down the complete head, neck, and wings. SIMILAR SPECIES
It’s distinguished from the Naked Throated Tiger-Heron by it smaller dimension, feathered white throat, and darkish sides and below elements.

In Costa Rica we noticed a single Faciated Tiger-Heron close to the Arenal Observatory.
