Some of the widespread and generally noticed birds of prey in North America, the Crimson-tailed Hawk (hereafter Crimson-tail) occupies a broad vary of habitats from central Alaska south to Venezuela and east to the Virgin Islands. (from Birds of the World)

In Costa Rica we noticed 3 Crimson-tailed Hawks within the Talamanca Highlands close to Miriam’s Restaurant.
