Large, long-legged, black-and-white waterbird, concerning the measurement of Nice Blue Heron. White physique with black flight feathers. Adults have a wrinkly bald head and pretty darkish invoice; juveniles have paler invoice and extra messy feathering on head and neck. Invoice is thicker and extra curved than herons. Forages primarily for fish by shifting open invoice by means of water till it feels prey. Present in wetlands, significantly flooded swamps and shallow ponds. (from Birds of the World)

PERSONAL OBSERVATION ANECDOTES
In Costa Rica we noticed Wooden Storks combined in with Snowy Egrets and a few White Ibis whereas on the boat tour on the mouth of the Tárcoles River.
