OBSERVATION ANECDOTES
In Costa Rica throughout our first (and solely) day of birding at Rancho Naturalista, this hummingbird appeared seemingly out of nowhere feeding on the verbena blossums. I snapped a few photographs (largely out-of-focus) after which a male Snowcap popped up proper subsequent to it. Unfortuantely, the Snowcap grew to become the moment celeb for the paparazzi and the Thorntail was forgotton. This was the one sighting of it throughout the whole journey. 😦
